The 'frontend' subproject probably needs to be licensed under only the GNU General Public License, due to a "direct" python dependency on the GPL'd wotsap library. We are planning to modify wotsap to run as a daemon/service for processing speed reasons, in which case 'frontend' will not have to be GPL'd and the wotsap service will be.

The licenses are alternatives and if you select one license, that one alone applies. If you choose Apache 2.0, you should be able to link with nearly anything. There is current debate if the (L)GPL2 is compatible with Apache 2.0 (FSF says no, ASF says yes) so when linking with LGPL or GPL'd code it makes sense to pick either of the LGPL or GPL licenses. (Some ideas and text from Redland)
